Ph.D. studies

There are two Ph.D. student positions available at the Laboratory for Education and Research in Secure Systems Engineering (LERSSE). Ph.D. students are accepted with full support in the form of research assistantships and positions are available for starting in September of every year. Application deadline is in December of the previous year.
LERSSE is a world-class international multidisciplinary research group specializing in the following areas of Usable Privacy and Security (i.e., application of HCI methods to security) and its applications to the domains of :

  • Cryptocurrencies
  • Mobile and wearable devices
  • IoT
  • Social media
  • Sociotechnical systems

Besides usual training in computing, we are particularly interested in those applicants who have background or interest in applying methods of social science, cognitive science, psychology, and HCI to the domain of computer security.
LERSSE graduates commonly go on working for top hi-tech R&D and consulting companies in North and South America, Asia, Europe, and Middle East.

Masters studies

LERSSE does not usually accept applicants for Masters program, unless the candidate is exceptionally bright and mature. If you believe you are such a person, you are welcome to apply. Support for Masters students is usually not provided.
